Philip and Mary (1554-58), Penny, 0.55g., m.m. lis, crowned bust of Mary left, p z m d g rosa sine spine, rev. long cross fourchée over shield, civitas london (N.1975; S.2510), flan slightly irregular and light areas of weakness but with a pleasing old tone and a particularly good example of this very rare denomination, the portrait displaying much detail including Queen Mary's face, good very fine, the portrait better for this.
