LUCANIA. Thurium. Ca. 350-300 BC. AR distater (27mm, 15.30 gm, 6h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with leaping griffin / [ΘΟΥΡΙ]ΩΝ above, bull charging right, head lowered; aphlaston flanked by HP and AK in exergue. Cf. Noe, Thurian N4 (same symbols, different dies). Cf. HN Italy 1857. Extremely rare die variety! Rather lightly struck on a broad flan. Good Very Fine.
