IONIA. Magnesia ad Meandrum. Ca. 155-145 BC. AR tetradrachm (35mm, 16.83 gm, 12h). Erasippos, son of Aristeos magistrate. Draped bust of Artemis right, wearing taenia in hair, quiver over shoulder / ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ to right, EPAΣΙΠΠΟΣ ΑΡΙΣΤEΟY to left, Apollo standing left on meander pattern, holding laurel branch and leaning on tripod; all within laurel wreath. M. Jones, MN 24 (1979), 26-34. SNG von Aulock 2042. Struck in high relief from dies of uncommonly elegant style on a broad flan. Surfaces a little brushed, otherwise toned Extremely Fine.
