L AVREL COM-MODVS AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Commodus right, seen from behind / TR P III IMP II COS P P, Salus seated left, feeding serpent rising from altar to left. RIC (Aurelius) 649. RSC 762. A brilliant piece, with needle-sharp detail and near-perfect surfaces. NGC Choice MS 5/5 - 5/5.
