A rare grade for this early Australian sovereign with wisps of grade-defining friction on the highpoints and much fewer than average marks over the surfaces. Of the 52 coins certified by PCGS and NGC combined for the date, only 1 example has been graded Mint State, making the present on-the-cusp specimen all-the-more desirable.
