Charles III 8 Reales 1774 PTS-JR MS64 NGC, A superb coin, very choice Mint State and well struck, with full partially subdued mint bloom and only scattered handling marks preventing a higher designation. A most handsome example of this popular bust Colonial type and worthy of serious consideration. The group of 1774-dated Potosi 8 Reales and the Mexico 8 Reales 1779 Mo-FF are the best struck surviving specimens of the entire Spanish Colonial Charles III series, and thus represent the pinnacle of this popular series when in truly Choice preservation. As such, they are the more suited issue to illustrate the type in a quality cabinet. Most desirable and rare in this select quality.
