Republic Peso 1897-A MS61 NGC, Paris mint, KM16. Lustrous Mint State with contact marks within the confines of the assigned grade. A one-year type issued in large numbers (1,455,000 pieces is the official reported mintage) but very elusive in higher grades being of only 0.350 fineness. True Mint State examples are rare and very desirable.
