Napoleon "100 Days" 2 Francs 1815-A MS63 NGC, Paris mint, KM703, Gad-510. An outstanding example of this "100 Days" rarity, free of the obvious planchet adjustments that are seen on many survivors and boldly defined, with no marks of significance that impede viewing. Perhaps most impressive however is the overall appearance of this piece. Deeply and originally toned, the surfaces hold a mixture of olive, antique-gold and other iridescent hues over the entirety of the surfaces, with obvious reflectivity in the fields serving to magnify the color intensity when viewed beneath a light. An unquestionably great coin, and quite possibly the "prettiest" example extant.
