Napoleon gold 40 Francs 1807-U XF45 NGC, Turin mint, KM-A688.4, Fr-482. This impressive selection struck at the scarce mint of Turin features the large, plain bust of Napoleon and lightly-toned golden surfaces. The wear on this piece is evenly distributed and the grade more than accounts for the few unnoteworthy marks that are scattered throughout. Reporting an extremely low mintage of only 619 pieces--with all the known specimens of this type appearing in low grade--the present offering is actually the finest-known certified example of this date/mint, making this coin conditionally rare and decidedly elusive. Ex. Argenor Numismatique 2006 Sale, Lot 411, sold for 7275 Euros.
