Oldenburg. Friedrich August gold Pistole (5 Taler) 1776-B MS62 NGC, Altona mint, KM87 (under Lubeck), Fr-1931 (also Fr-1509 under Lubeck). An interesting type, issued by the Duke of Oldenburg who was simultaneously the Bishop of Lubeck. Trifling handling marks account for the technical grade, which in UNC catalogs at $6500 in SCWC. Minimal striking weakness affects the reverse arms and does little to diminish the overall eye-appeal of this scarce issue.
