Great Britain
Edward III (1327-77) gold Noble 1369-77 XF40 NGC, London mint, Post-treaty period, annulet before ЄD, Cross Potent mm, S-1516, North-1277 (R). An evenly struck piece on a very slightly-wavy flan, the surfaces display light tone and ample residual luster. We see here an obverse with Edward resuming the title of King of France following the collapse of the Treaty of Brétigny. This example was struck with a reverse die from the treaty period, almost certainly placing its minting in the first year or so after Charles V of France declared the treaty void (c.1369-70).
