Great Britain
Henry VIII gold 1/2 Crown ND (1544-47) AU Details (Mount Removed) NGC, Tower mint, Third coinage, pellet in annulet mm, S-2311, North-1837 (R). The coin seems choice enough, lustrous and sharp on the obverse with an excellent legend, center of reverse and legends quite doubled in strike, and the gold is of a pleasing light yellow color. The king's name and titles are on the reverse on this issue. The classic legend translates to mean "A dazzling rose without a thorn." A rarely seen little coin of considerable intrinsic value (buying power) in its day.
