George I "South Sea Company" Shilling 1723 MS65 NGC, Royal mint, KM539.3, S-3648, ESC-1176A. "C/SS" variety. Essentially fully white with strong silvery luster and a perfect strike; light haymarking is noted. A scarce variety of this popular hallmarked type with remnants of a "SS" visible beneath the "C" in the lower right quadrant on the reverse. Very seldom encountered this nice.
