Victoria gold "Ansell" Sovereign 1859 VF35 NGC, Royal mint, KM736.3, S-3852E. A moderately circulated, yet fully wholesome example of this important sovereign variety with an extra line on the queen's fillet and a missing vertical connector between the lower portion of the "5" and its flag in the date. Other identifying attributes on this, and many of the survivors, include a faint die crack that begins at the dentils at 12 o'clock and extends into Victoria's portrait. With an estimated survival of between 15-25 pieces, a truly important opportunity for the specialist.
Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
