Victoria gold Sovereign 1898 MS65 NGC, Royal mint, KM785, S-3874. A common date in lower grades, but very prone to significant marks as a date, and thus a conditional rarity at the Gem grade; one of only two MS65s graded by NGC with none graded finer. The other example, formerly from the Bentley Collection, was sold by us in January 2013 for $4,406.25.
