Portuguese Goa. Manuel I (1495-1521) gold 1/2 Manuel ND AU55 NGC, Gomes-13.04. A rare example of the first gold coinage of Goa. A couple of tiny rim flaws are noted (as struck) and die-polishing lines lend character to the fields, pale-gold in tone with very little evident circulation wear. Adding to the eye appeal, all of the beading is visible along the edges. Very rare and highly desirable thus.
