Victorian Era bronze "London visit of Naser al-Din Shah" Historical Medal 1873 MS65 Brown NGC, BHM-2951, Eimer-1623. By A. B. Wyon. A truly exceptional offering, struck to commemorate the Shah of Persia's visit to London, featuring the fantastic portrait of a uniformed Nasir al-Din wearing a diamond-adorned fez. The reverse depicts Londinia standing between the shields of London and Persia with St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London behind. Most attractive, with lustrous mahogany-brown surfaces that are nearly pristine and meticulously-struck devices that exhibit virtually no rub. This incredibly popular medal boasts a low mintage of only 400 pieces, and in this gem level of preservation, is especially scarce.
