Jamaica
British Colony 5 Pounds ND (1758) XF Details (Tooled) NGC, KM11.4, Prid-1. Slight tooling evidence on the obverse (obviously an attempt to remove small planchet flaws long ago) account for the designation, yet a rather handsome specimen of this rare issue with a superb pedigree. The countermarked Jamaica doubloon remains probably the most iconic rarity in the challenging West Indies cut and countermarked series with only 9 or 10 specimens confirmed by the cataloguer. Certain to become a centerpiece in the next owner's holdings, the present example should attract serious interest.
