Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1750 Mo-MF AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM150, Onza-600. A handsome example of this very elusive type, substantially lustrous with slight high-point friction evidence defining the grade and sharply defined features in both the King's bust on the obverse and the shield on the revers. Decidedly rare in this quality, the 1750 also noted as a scarcer date in the Onza reference work – not surprising, since recent research by Carlos Jara indicates a scant 25,645 pieces minted - and thus a most desirable type coin.
Estimate: 5000-7000 USD
