Republic 8 Reales 1866 Ho-MP XF Details (Cleaning) PCGS, Hermosillo mint, KM377.9, DP-Ho08. Quite attractive for the designation, with sharply defined features, limited high-point friction evidence and essentially unobtrusive hairlines, mostly visible on the eagle side. A very rare date/mint combination, collectible in any grade per DP's comments: "...extremely rare and ... a candidate for the rarest 8 Reales of Hermosillo. The problem is finding one (in any condition)". This fact was well illustrated by the example recently sold by us (Heritage Auctions 1/2015, lot 35840), which was repaired yet still hammered at $2,200. We thus expect this rather handsome and essentially unflawed superior example to attract strong bidding activity.
