Carol I gold 100 Lei 1906 MS62 NGC, Brussels mint, KM40, Fr-4, Stamb-067. A beautiful commemorative gold type, struck for the 40th year of the reign for Carol. On the present piece, considerable prooflike gleam, characteristic of strikings from a fresh die, remains apparent, with the minor surface ticks that so often accompany this issue scattered about. From a mintage of only 3,000 and especially demanded at this very scarce Mint State grade.
