Griquatown. British Colony bronze Pattern Penny 1890 MS63 Red and Brown NGC, Berlin mint, KM-Pn8. An absolutely spectacular pattern with unmistakable qualities of a Proof, including definite flash in the fields and squared-off rims. The first variety of this denomination, by L. C. Lauer and struck by Messrs. Otto Nolte and Co. in Berlin, Germany, features three stars on each side of the reverse legend. Noteworthy design elements are readily apparent, with full-feather detail upon the dove's wings and the overall appearance of this selection is captivating with unending golden luster that effortlessly caresses the surfaces. Choice for the grade and an altogether engaging piece.
