Empire and Republic Commemorative Medals Quartet, Lot of four medals, as follows:- VC-122. Copper, About Uncirculated, old collector's number in ink on reverse. A souvenir medalet struck at the Brazilian mint press exhibited at the Centennial Philadelphia 1876 International Exposition. - VC-188. Copper, About Uncirculated, lustrous. Struck and distributed on June 22, 1890 during the celebrations held in honor of Francisco Portella, first Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro.- VC-132. Copper, Choice About Uncirculated. A trial strike of the reverse of the unfinished medal dated 1862 and projected to commemorate the inauguration of the equestrian statue of Pedro I on March 25, 1862. It is presumed the obverse die was not finished in time for the medals to be struck.- VC-154, Meili-105. Struck in 1880 by the Gabinete Portugues de Lectura do Rio de Janeiro to commemorate the 3rd centenary of the birth of Luiz de Camoes at the cornerstone ceremony of their new building. All uncommon and well preserved.
