Pedro II Commemorative Religious Medal 1855, VC-164. Silver plated bronze. Choice About Uncirculated. Struck to commemorate the reopening of the Brotherhood of San Francisco Xavier de Bahia during the epidemic of 1855-1856. The inscriptions refer to the miraculous extinction of the plague in 1686 and depict an incorrect rendition of the arms of Bahia placed at the feet of the saint. Rare and quite desirable so well preserved.
