Pomerania-Wolgast silver 1/2 Taler 1633 AU53 NGC, Ahlstrom-14, Struck upon the death of King Gustav II Adolf of Sweden at the Battle of Lutzen, this piece honors his accomplishments. With all-over classic, cabinet patina, the obverse depicts the King lying in state and the reverse features the king seated in a chariot pulled by three winged horses, with allegorical figures of Peace and Religion above. A most intriguing piece with plenty of eye-appeal. Probably struck in Stockholm.
