George V, sovereign, 1921M, bare head l., rev. St. George and the dragon, M above date (S.3999; M.239; McD.268), uncirculated/choice uncirculated with strong lustre and pleasing surfaces, normal slight softness of detail on the high points of St. George but the mintmark is bold and both sides show the same lovely old-gold colour, extremely rare and a most desirable specimen
With one of the lowest mintages among all colonial sovereigns, the 1921 Melbourne issue is understandably elusive when it displays full lustre and is so well preserved as this specimen, which must rank among the best-kept pieces, making it a contender for inclusion in a truly high-end collection.

Estimate: £10,000-12,000
