Republic 8 Reales 1834 Ca-MR AU53 PCGS, Chihuahua mint, KM377.2, DP-Ca04. Quite attractive for the designation, well struck with considerably lustrous surfaces and faint high-point friction defining the grade, a small clanchet crack at 12 o'clock mentioned for accuracy's sake. A choice example of this rare date/assayer combination, among the finer seen by the cataloguer and very rare in this preservation. When commenting on this elusive issue, DP notes "A very rare coin" and "Extremely Fine or better (condition) with a strong strike is exceedingly rare", thus clearly indicating the present specimen's desirability.
