Republic 8 Reales 1865 Ca-JC AU55 PCGS, Chihuahua mint, KM377.2, DP-Ca38. Partially lustrous and attractive for the designation. Although not identified as such, many of the examined 1865 Ca-JC 8 Reales show heavily reworked obverse dies and are probably 1865/4 overdates. The present coin's obverse die -albeit reworked - is a match for the plate of DP-Ca37, a 1864 Ca-JC. A popular date since one of the few obtainable issues of 1865 in the entire Caps and Rays series, scarce in this quality.
