Republic 8 Reales 1867 Zs-JS XF Details (Damage) PCGS, Zacatecas mint, KM377.13, DP-Zs51. An extremely rare date, and the second rarest from the mint, struck not long after Maximilian's fall, and as a result, likely only struck for a short time that year. The present piece, like most that survive, is admittedly short of perfect, clearly having spent a decent amount of time in the orient, with a single definitive chop below the eagle's wing and numerous pecks on the cap and rays. Despite its flaws however, the importance of this coin is not to be diminished - certain to play an important role in the next Cap & Rays collection in graces.
