Matrix for Spanish-American bust 4 reales reverse-die punches, engraved in Madrid by Tomas Prieto, dated 1770, very rare. 1603 grams, 2-1/2" tall and 2-1/2" in diameter. Octagonal-shank "test die" showing all the various elements of design for a reverse die (in retrograde) as well as the engraver's name and date (not in retrograde), still in excellent condition with smooth field and clear details, unique and important to 4R collectors of all mints.
