Silver "plata corriente" cut piece of an ingot, 43.81 grams, marked with tax stamp. Roughly 1-3/8" x 7/8" x 3/8". Crude chunk of silver (originally a "splash" but with many pieces broken off) with circular stamp on top that shows parts of a couple letters (looks like VL), toning and sediment in crevices, popular as used in place of coins in the early colonies. Found in a Spanish colonial area of the southern Caribbean.

Estimate: $350 - 500
