Apollonia Pontika, mid 4th century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23mm, 16.93g 6), under the magistrate Kleinias. Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. ΚΛΕΙΝΙΑΣ Anchor with Α to left and crayfish to right. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 455 (but obverse head to right), otherwise unpublished except for the examples that appeared as NAC 66, 38 and Lanz 156, 80. Very rare, the third and best example known. A lovely coin, of excellent style and struck in high relief. Extremely fine.
