Athens, c. 455-449 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23mm, 17.01g 4). Head of Athena to right, wearing disc earring, pearl necklace and a crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and a spiral palmette. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing the viewer; to left, olive sprig and crescent moon; all within incuse square. Agora 8a ff. Svoronos, Trésor pls. 13-14. A very sharp and well struck piece with iridescent toning. Extremely fine.
