Mytilene, c. 500 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 9mm, 2.55g 5). Ram's head to right; below, rooster feeding to left. Rev. Lion's head with open jaws to right; behind, rectangle divided into two squares; all incuse. BMC 7-9. Bodenstedt 16. SNG von Aulock 1688 and 7719. Rare. An attractive pair of animal heads. Rooster's head off the flan as usual, otherwise, good extremely fine.
