Teos, c. 500-475 BC. Stater (Silver, 19mm, 11.82g). Μ Ε Griffin, with open mouth, seated to right on ornamental pedestal, his left forepaw raised. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer 12 (same dies), but Μ below griffin apparently unnoticed by Balcer). Traité I, 500 = pl. XIII, 4 (same dies, the letter is visible). A bold and attractive coin, lightly toned. Extremely fine.
