Kelenderis, c. 430-420 BC. Stater (Silver, 22mm, 10.64g 11). Youthful nude rider holding the reins with his right hand and a goad in his left, seated sideways on horse prancing to left, preparing to jump off and run alongside the horse. Rev. [ΚΕ]Λ Goat kneeling right, its head turned back to left; above, ivy branch. C.M. Kraay, 'The Celenderis Hoard', NC 1962, 14 (same dies). SNG Paris 48 (same dies, but with a Π on the obverse that was erased in the die before our coin was struck). SNG von Aulock 5624 (same dies). Attractive and lightly toned. Nearly extremely fine.
