Bahram II, AD 276-293. Dinar (Gold, 22mm, 7.43g 4). mzdysn bgy wrhr'n MRKAn MRKA 'yr'n W'nyr'n MNW ctry MN yzd'n Elaborate diademed and draped bust of Bahram II, with short beard, winged crown (curved wing) and korymbos. Rev. NWRAZY wrhr 'n Fire altar flanked by two attendants, both wearing crowns and each holding a spear. Göbl I/1 var. Saeedi -. Sunrise 765. Very rare. A beautiful, lightly toned coin with an especially elegant portrait. Extremely fine.

This type, bearing a superb portrait of the king wearing a crown adorned with a curved wing, seems to be very rare, indeed. Usually the general type is found with a straight-winged crown. The style is simply exceptional.
