1 Franc ND (1870) P. 5A. This provisional issue banknote from Martinique is a remainder without signatures. Interesting about this item is a contemporary writing on back side which says: "Bank Note found among the Ruins of the Bank de France at St. Pierre Martinique by me. Where 30.000 were destroyed in a minute. 8 May 1902". This handwritten story tell the happening that took place in 1902 at Martinique where many of these notes were destroyed by a vulcano breaking out. This note was rescued and shows only slight center folding with no holes or tears. Interesting witness of time. Condition: VF+.
