In AD 66 Nero journeyed to Greece, where he gave a series of musical and athletic performances much criticized by ancient historians. Struck to commemorate the Freedom of Greece in AD 67, the obverse legend assimilates the emperor with Zeus Eleutherios ("the liberator")
