ACHAEA, Pellene. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Assarion (20mm, 4.09 g, 3h). Struck circa AD 198-205. Laureate head right / Fortuna standing left, holding patera and cornucopia. Cf. BCD Peloponnesos 613-4/618.3 (for same obv. die/for rev. type); cf. NCP p. 93 (for the same rev. type, but of Septimius Severus and Geta); Dura –; BMC –. VF, green patina, some deposits and roughness. Extremely rare, and apparently unpublished.
