JUDAEA, Gaza. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 11.98 g, 12h). Struck AD 215-217. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; symbol of Marnas above each wing, wreath between legs. Prieur 1692; Sofaer – (but cf. 201 for rev.). VF, some porosity, flan crack. Very rare, only one cited by Prieur, one additional in CoinArchives (Morton & Eden 68, 10 June 2014, lot 121 [hammer of £4,400 / $7,389]).
