BRITISH COINS, George IV, Gold Sovereign, 1823, first laureate head left, B.P. below, rev St George slaying dragon right with sword, date in exergue, weak upper serif on the 1, date figure 3 slightly raised, edge milled, 7.96g (Bentley 14; Marsh 7 R3; MCE 473; S 3800). Once cleaned with associated hairlines and marks to surfaces, scratch from neck of portrait to rim, otherwise bold fine and a very rare date.
