BRITISH COINS, Victoria, Gold Sovereign, 1838, first young head left, hair bound with double fillet, ponytail terminates in single curved strand of hair, w.w. raised on truncation, date below, rev crowned shield of arms within laurel wreath, emblems below, edge milled, 7.97g (Bentley 967; Marsh 22 R; MCE 499; S 3852). Light obverse marks and hairlines, once cleaned, now toned, otherwise good very fine.
