BRITISH COINS, Early Anglo Saxon, Primary Sceat (c.680-c.710), series BIIIa, diademed head right with prominent chin, annulet in front, beaded serpent circle and legend surrounding, rev bird right on cross, small annulet either side, annulet at each angle of cross, beaded serpent circle surrounding, 1.26g (BMC type 27b; N 129; S 777A). Good very fine, toned and pleasing.
