BRITISH COINS, William I, Silver Penny, PAXS type (1083-1086), Shaftesbury mint, moneyer Aelnoth, facing crowned bust with sceptre, tri-pellet on shoulder, crown 3, linear circle surrounding, +PILLELM REX, rev cross pattée, each letter of PAXS in annulet in consecutive angles, +IELNOÐ ON SCIFT, 1.36g (BMC type VIII, cf 919; N 850; S 1257). Weak in parts, nearly very fine, toned and very rare.
