THRACE, Hadrianopolis. Commodus. AD 177-192. Æ (21mm, 5.72 g, 1h). Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Hercules standing right, holding club and lion skin. RPC IV online 10572.1 = Varbanov 3282 = Jurukova, Hadrianople 150 (same dies as illustration). VF, green patina, some bare metal exposed in areas, a few light marks. Extremely rare, with RPC citing only one example (the Jurukova and Varbanov plate coin).
