(Pollard [2007] 437; Hill 381; Kress 381), an old cast, pierced, about very fine The griffin is the city badge of Perugia and Pollard suggests the medal was a reference to the Pope's suppression of riots against a tax on salt that had been imposed on the city. The medal has been attributed at times to Valerio Belli, Bonzagni and Cesati.
