Chinese-American Bank of Commerce, 1920 First Issue Set of Proof Banknotes. China. Lot of 5 banknotes, all are Face and Back Large Die proofs printed on india paper on large card. All have the face in black with the Statue of Liberty on right, shield with floral spray on left backs are green, Includes 1920, $1, P-S230p; $5, P-S231p; $10, P-S232p; $50, P-S233p (Only known as a specimen) and $100, P-S234p (Only known as a Specimen). All have shield in floral wreath on left and Statue of Liberty on right, flanking circular ornate and colorful cycloid engraving, all with green back. All are in Choice to Superb Gem Uncirculated condition. Outstanding banknote set from this extremely rare bank with only 3 sets of proofs found in the ABN archives. Issued notes rarely appear on the market. ABNC. The complete set has never been offered as a proof set previously and is directly from the ABN archives sale of 1991.
