ARABIA, Southern. Saba'. 1st century AD. AR Unit (25mm, 4.98 g, 6h). Imitating Athens 'New Style' coinage. Laureate male head right, resembling Augustus, within wreath / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; monogram to left, curved symbol of Almaqah and monogram to right. CAF 1.16i; Huth 292–3; cf. SNG ANS 1475–8 (for type); HGC 10, –. Near VF, lightly toned, hairline flan crack, chipped on edge, encrustation on reverse.
