Khell ('Numismata Cimelii Caesarei Regii Austriaci Vindobonensis; quorum rariora iconismis, cetera catalogis exhibita etc'. 1755) in recording this coin from the Imperial Cabinet at Vienna, says 'Unicum hunc, atque pretii non aestimandi pronunciare confidenter audeo'. Excessively rare and exceptionally well struck, with an outstanding portrait of Pescennius Niger.
